Gymfinity Gymnastics – Code of Conduct
At Gymfinity Gymnastics, we want every child to enjoy gymnastics in a safe, fun, and supportive environment. This Code of Conduct sets out the standards of behaviour expected from everyone involved in the club – gymnasts, parents/carers, coaches, and volunteers.
1. For Gymnasts
As a member of Gymfinity Gymnastics, I will:
Always try my best, listen to my coaches, and follow instructions.
Respect my teammates, coaches, judges, and opponents.
Be kind and supportive to others, inside and outside the gym.
Never bully, tease, or exclude anyone.
Look after club equipment and facilities.
Wear appropriate clothing and tie back long hair for safety.
Tell an adult if I feel worried, upset, or unsafe.
Remember: Gymnastics is about fun, learning, and teamwork.
2. For Parents & Carers
As a parent/carer at Gymfinity Gymnastics, I will:
Encourage my child to enjoy gymnastics and try their best.
Support the club’s rules and respect decisions made by coaches and judges.
Never use threatening, abusive, or inappropriate language or behaviour.
Respect all gymnasts, parents, coaches, and volunteers.
Ensure my child arrives on time and is collected promptly.
Keep the club informed of any changes to my child’s health or needs.
Raise concerns calmly with the Welfare Officer or Head Coach, not in front of children.
Remember: Sport is for children – their enjoyment comes first.
3. For Coaches & Volunteers
As a coach or volunteer at Gymfinity Gymnastics, I will:
Place the welfare, safety, and enjoyment of the gymnast above all else.
Treat all children equally, with respect and fairness.
Never engage in bullying, inappropriate language, or behaviour.
Act as a positive role model in behaviour, appearance, and attitude.
Maintain professional boundaries with gymnasts and families.
Keep my safeguarding and coaching qualifications up to date.
Work with parents, the committee, and British Gymnastics in the best interests of the children.
Report any concerns about a child’s welfare to the Club Welfare Officer.
4. Breaches of the Code
Any breaches of this Code of Conduct will be dealt with fairly and consistently.
Consequences may include verbal warnings, written warnings, temporary suspension, or removal from the club.
